Artist's Statement

United Nations Secretariat,
 Silver gelatin print, 6"x9" 2016.

In 1951, a year before it opened,
Charles Sheeler made photograph
of the UN building in New York City.
A building symbolic of new hope,
Made Gleaming glass and polished stong,
By the likes of Niemeyer and Le Corbusier.
It was an optimistic Post-war moment.
At the height of faith in modernity,
Today, the building looks differnt to me.
Like it can barely support itself anymore.
